BlackBerry App World adds Themes
As promised at last month’s BlackBerry Developer Conference 2009, Research In Motion introduced a
new Themes category via the BlackBerry App World virtual storefront. Spanning a multitude of subjects including movies, sports and nature scenes, Themes promise to impact the appearance of BlackBerry smartphone features like backgrounds, screens, homescreens, icons and menus, all stylistically reflecting the subject matter of each particular theme. RIM adds that themes also can include unique animations, ringtones and other visual tricks.
BlackBerry App World offers both free and premium themes. RIM adds that the submission process is open to all registered BlackBerry App World developers–programmers must retain the rights to all images, sounds and content in each theme, and also keep the subject matter appropriate for users of all ages.
